Toward the end of the NFL season, Playible is hosting its first Football Championship, a two-week fantasy sports event with more than $15,000 in total prizes.
Athlete NFT holders will compete for a weekly chance at earning an entry ticket, and ticket holders will then compete for their share of the prize pool.
Let’s answer a few frequently asked questions about the upcoming contest:
How Do I Enter?
First, you’ll have to build a fantasy sports team. Our mint goes live on August 23, and our secondary marketplace opens the following week.
Each week, the first place winner in our standard fantasy sports contests will receive a ticket to enter the Playible Football Championship (PFC). This is in addition to the contests’ top prizes. The ticket will be attached to your NEAR Protocol wallet address, and when the PFC starts, you’ll be granted access to create a lineup.
Can I Enter Multiple Times?
Yes, you can enter as many times as you have entry tickets. If you win three tickets, you can enter three times. If you win five tickets, you can enter five times.
How Will the Contest Work?
Similar to traditional fantasy sports and our weekly NFT fantasy sports contests, the players who scored the most points for that specific week win. During the first week of the Playible Football Championship, the top half of the total contest pool will advance. During the second week, everyone will win a prize with the top scorers winning the most.
For example, if there are a total of 100 PFC entries, after the first week, 50 PFC entries will be eliminated. After the second week, the prize pool will be distributed to the remaining 50 PFC entries with first place winning the most, and 50th place winning the least.
How Many Chances Do I Have to Win?
There will be at least one ticket opportunity per week. The total number of ticket opportunities is yet to be determined, but our best estimate is around 50 total entries.
What Is the Prize Pool Payout Structure?
The official prize pool payout structure will be determined two weeks prior to the Playible Football Championship start date. See “How Will the Contest Work” for more details about the contest’s structure.
Will There Be an In-Person Event for PFC?
We’d love to do an in-person event for the Playible Football Championship, and we will exhaust all possibilities to make it happen. We cannot promise a live finals event, but we will keep our community updated with all the latest information via our Twitter and Discord.
